About MatQuo

MatQuo is a free materials intelligence and calculation site for industrial buyers, sellers, converters and analysts.

Manufacturers, analysts and anyone tracking industrial input costs need to know which way those costs are moving — polymer prices, energy, freight-driving fuels, exchange rates — but that information is usually scattered across dozens of official databases, buried in technical formats, or locked behind expensive market-data subscriptions. MatQuo pulls the free, official pieces together into one fast daily view, in plain numbers anyone can read.

What MatQuo does

The homepage is a live market board: exchange rates, polyethylene and polypropylene trade unit values, the EU plastics producer-price index, and crude oil and natural-gas spot prices. Tap any row for its 1-week, 1-month, 1-year and 5-year moves and a chart. Each material has its own page with import and export flows, the countries the EU actually buys from, applicable import tariffs and HS codes, and a simple indicative cost calculator.

Where the data comes from

Everything on MatQuo is built from official, free-to-reuse sources, with attribution:

What MatQuo is not

MatQuo is an analytical and educational tool, not a trading terminal and not financial advice. Customs unit values are declared trade averages, and producer-price indices are proxies — they are not spot or contract market prices. Figures are indicative; anyone making a commercial decision should confirm the underlying data at its official source.

MatQuo does not sell, source, broker, distribute, or arrange transactions in industrial materials. It does not provide procurement, sourcing, brokerage, or materials-trading services. MatQuo uses only public, official and independently sourced data, and does not draw on any confidential, proprietary or employment-derived information.

Who MatQuo serves

MatQuo is built for industrial buyers, sellers, converters, analysts, engineers and students who need a defensible first answer before opening a source database, checking a quotation or reviewing a technical specification. The site is independently operated and kept free to use.

How the work is governed

MatQuo is responsible for the way source data is selected, calculated, labelled and explained. It publishes formulas and assumptions where a result is calculated, keeps official values separate from MatQuo interpretation, and omits claims that the evidence cannot support. Read the data and calculation methodology and editorial standards and corrections process.

Corrections and contact

If you spot an error, include the page, figure and source when you contact MatQuo. The source record and calculation are checked, confirmed material errors are corrected, and the relevant review date is updated.

About MatQuo questions

What is MatQuo and who is it for?

MatQuo is a free analytical and educational site that combines official industrial input data, trade context and practical calculators. It serves buyers, sellers, converters, analysts, engineers and students who need a defensible first answer before reviewing a source database, supplier quotation or technical specification. Its methods and limitations are published alongside the evidence.

Where does MatQuo get its data?

MatQuo uses official, attributed sources including Eurostat for trade and producer prices, the European Central Bank for reference exchange rates, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration for energy references. European Commission systems provide customs and tariff context. Source dates and calculation assumptions distinguish recorded evidence from MatQuo's interpretation of that evidence.

Does MatQuo sell materials or provide purchasing advice?

MatQuo does not sell, source, broker or arrange transactions in industrial materials. It provides analytical and educational tools using public, official and independently sourced evidence. Customs unit values and producer-price indices are not supplier quotations. Confirm the source data, product specification and commercial terms separately before making a purchasing or trading decision.
