Materials

Every material MatQuo tracks — live EU import and export unit values (€/tonne), top origin countries and import duties, from official Eurostat & ECB data. Pick a material for its full market page.

Polymers

The big commodity plastics — the resins behind packaging, film, pipe, bottles and moulded goods. EU MFN duty 6.5%.

Metals

Primary metal traded on world markets, where the EU is a large net importer. Duty, safeguards and CBAM can all bite.

Glass

Traded flat glass for building and automotive — a 4.9% duty and a handful of trade-defence measures.

Paper & fibre

Traded packaging paper and board — where duty is largely 0% and the cost levers are pulp, energy and freight.

How the material pages work

Each material page pulls live from Eurostat's COMEXT database: the EU's extra-EU import and export unit values in euros per tonne (declared customs trade averages, not spot, LME or contract prices), the tonnes and value moving in and out, the trade balance, the top non-EU origin countries, and the applicable EU import duty by origin. More materials are added each release. See also the live market Pulse, cross-material import statistics, and the calculators & converters.
