What the result means
The tool is a screening view of the standard or preferential customs duty for the selected origin, destination and polymer heading. A zero shown for an agreement partner is conditional: the goods must meet the agreement’s origin rules and the importer must hold the required evidence.
How to verify a rate
- Confirm the product’s current CN or tariff code; a heading-level description may contain subheadings with different treatment.
- Confirm origin under the applicable customs rules, not merely the dispatch country.
- Check the official tariff service for the import date, destination and any preference, quota, anti-dumping or safeguard measure.
- Apply the verified rate to the correct customs value. For EU imports this normally starts from the value at the EU border, including relevant freight and insurance.
MatQuo reviews the curated mapping monthly and links unsupported destinations to their official finder. Rates remain indicative because legal treatment can change between reviews. Use the European Commission TARIC consultation for the controlling EU check, then model the result with the landed cost calculator. Read the tariff methodology and limitations.
