How roll weight is calculated

Two steps: the wound length = π × (OD² − core²) ÷ (4 × thickness), then weight = length × width × thickness × density, all in consistent units. If you already know the length, the film weight calculator takes it directly; if you only have the roll's diameters, this tool does both.

FAQ

How do you calculate the weight of a roll?

Get the wound length from the diameters and thickness, then multiply length × width × thickness × density.
