How reel and remaining stock are calculated
Reel weight = GSM × width × length ÷ 1000 (grammage in g/m², width and length in metres, result in kg). If the length is unknown, remaining length = π × (current outside diameter² − core diameter²) ÷ (4 × caliper). The diameter method assumes a round reel, even winding and representative single-ply caliper; compression, moisture, tension and measurement error can change the actual result. Confirm critical inventory by weighing the reel and subtracting the known core/tare mass.
