Assumptions and source method

WFT/DFT uses the coating’s non-volatile content by volume. The spreading-rate relationship follows the method described in ISO 3233-3 and current manufacturer explanatory notes. Theoretical rate assumes a smooth surface and no loss. Practical quantity applies only the loss percentage you enter; surface profile, shape, overspray, mixing residue and operator technique can all change actual consumption.
