CP1–CP9 chemical pallets: dimensions and uses
CP1 through CP9 identify distinct chemical-pallet designs; the number is not a load-capacity ranking. EPAL publishes each model’s dimensions, including several shared footprints with different heights or construction. Select the model required by the receiving and discharge process, then confirm its condition, construction and applicable load limits with the supplier.
Read the model, not just the rectangle
The atlas below uses EPAL’s length × width × height order. CP1 and CP6 use the same pair of floor dimensions in reversed order, but have different published heights. CP3, CP8 and CP9 share a 1,140 mm square footprint; that does not make them interchangeable for every handling or discharge operation.
Confirm construction before purchase
The drawings show top and side dimensional envelopes only. Board arrangement, underside construction, openings and model-specific load ratings have not yet been verified for this guide and are not supplied as fabrication or engineering specifications. Obtain the relevant current EPAL sheet and a supplier confirmation for the intended use before ordering an alternative model.
Comparison at a glance
| Model group | Dimensions to distinguish | Practical check |
|---|---|---|
| CP1 / CP6 | 1,000 × 1,200 × 138 / 1,200 × 1,000 × 156 mm | Do not infer identical underside construction |
| CP3 / CP8 / CP9 | 1,140 mm square; heights 138 / 156 / 156 mm | Confirm the specified design and discharge use |
| CP4 / CP7 | 1,100 × 1,300 × 138 / 1,300 × 1,100 × 156 mm | Check orientation and handling interface |
Worked example
Fictional overall height limit: 1,200 mm; measured bag layer: 100 mm. A 138 mm pallet leaves 1,062 mm, allowing ten complete layers. A 156 mm pallet leaves 1,044 mm, also allowing ten. Both fit this height test, but that arithmetic says nothing about their respective load capability or compatibility with a discharge station.

Common mistakes
- Reading CP9 as a higher-capacity version of CP1.
- Substituting a pallet solely because its floor dimensions match.
- Treating the atlas as a board layout or manufacturing drawing.
Questions and answers
Why do some CP models have the same footprint?
A floor rectangle does not describe every construction detail or handling function. Several CP models share dimensions while remaining distinct specified designs. Confirm the exact model required by the customer and equipment supplier, and use the relevant current product sheet instead of substituting another model based only on occupied floor space.
Are load capacities included in this atlas?
No. Model-specific loading conditions and ratings have not yet been verified for publication here. The atlas reports sourced dimensions and clearly limits the drawings to dimensional envelopes. Obtain the applicable supplier or EPAL documentation for the intended handling and support conditions before entering a load limit into the calculator.
Can CP dimensions be used in the pallet calculator?
Yes, as a starting footprint and pallet-height input, with the selected model identified. You still need measured package dimensions, actual tare and confirmed mass and height limits. A preset should save transcription, not replace evidence that the specific pallet and complete packed load are suitable for the planned shipment.
