Masterbatch / Additive Cost Calculator

Cost of an additivated compound — total blend cost and the incremental cost of additivation, kept separate. Updates as you type.

What is calculated

MB kg = quantity × rate; base kg = quantity − MB. Each is costed at its price. Total blend cost = MB cost + base cost; per-kg = total ÷ quantity. The incremental cost of additivation = MB kg × (MB price − base price) — the extra you pay for the masterbatch over simply using base resin.

Worked example

Base resin 1200 €/t, masterbatch 3500 €/t, 3% on 10,000 kg → 300 kg MB (1050 €), 9,700 kg base (11,640 €), total 12,690 € = 1,269 €/t. Incremental additivation cost = 300 × (3.50 − 1.20) = 690 € = 69 €/t.

Assumptions & limitations

Material cost only — no processing, scrap, energy or overhead. Prices and rate are user-entered. This is a planning figure, not a quotation.

Computed by the shared MatQuo masterbatch engine (/tools/mb-engine.js).
