Unit values and month-on-month changes

Each row preserves the product selection used on MatQuo's material page. Values are euros per tonne, calculated as declared import value divided by net mass. Month-on-month change compares that same selection with the preceding calendar month. The three origins are ranked by declared import value, not by shipment count or tonnage; shares use total extra-EU import value.

Read this snapshot carefully

The nine materials describe different products and grades. Comparing their unit values does not establish equivalent quality, scarcity, supplier availability or substitution value. A monthly change can reflect the mix of products, origins and shipments as well as changes in declared values. Import statistics use a statistical CIF valuation; do not treat them as an executable supplier quotation or automatically add freight again.

Blank CSV fields mean the required observation is unavailable, rather than zero. Product codes, previous-month values, import value, net mass and origin shares are included so readers can inspect the calculation. Use the dated report when citing this frozen snapshot; use the live statistics page when checking later releases and revisions.

Sources and reuse

Source: Eurostat COMEXT, DS-045409, reporter EU27_2020, imports, extra-EU partner EXT_EU27_2020, monthly observations. Net mass is converted from 100 kg units to tonnes. MatQuo calculated the unit values, growth rates and shares; Eurostat is not responsible for this derived presentation.

COMEXT values are already denominated in euros, so no FX conversion was applied to this table. The European Central Bank remains the source of the reference exchange rates shown elsewhere on MatQuo.
