How film output is calculated

kg/hour = width × thickness × density × speed × 60 (SI units — metres, kg/m³, m/min). It multiplies the film cross-section (width × thickness) by line speed to get volume per minute, by density for mass, by 60 for an hourly rate. kg/day applies your running hours (few lines run a full 24 h once changeovers and maintenance are counted). This is the theoretical extruded mass at the set gauge — real output is lower after trim, waste and downtime. For multilayer film, use the mass-weighted average density of the layers. See the film yield and multilayer masterbatch calculators.
